Miss Alabama National Teenager - Karlyn Pugh

Karlyn Pugh is a 18-year-old from Andalusia, Alabama. She is a recent
Magna Cum Laude Graduate of Andalusia High School. Karlyn is involved
in volunteering at Andalusia Elementary School, Community Christmas,
Relay for life, Alabama Red Cross, Andalusia Veteran’s Day, and
Toyland Head Start. She recently helped kick off the American Girl
“Stop the Bullying” campaign, by talking to 3rd graders at the local
elementary school and hosting a tea party for area children. During
high school Karlyn was SGA Class Secretary, Class Representative, 1st
Alternate for the AEC Youth Tour, Family, Career, and Community Club
President, a Memolusia Yearbook Staff Editor, a Diamond Doll, and a
member of Key Club, Usher Club, Anchor Club, Spanish Club, and
National Honor Society. Dance has been a passion of Karlyn’s since she was two. She was a  Senior Company member of The Company
Competitive Dance Team, and competed at many dance competitions as a soloist and team member. Karlyn will be attending Auburn University in the fall, where she will be studying early child development and elementary education. Karlyn is honored to represent her state as Miss. Alabama National Teenager.  She feels the program has given her a platform to combine her community service work with her love for children.

  Scholastic Honors:  Honor Roll and Headmaster’s List at Smiths Station High School; National Honor Roll Society; Beta Club; Who’s Who Among American High School Students.

   Talent: Contemporary Jazz Dance

   Leadership Roles:  President of Animal Club; Junior Class Representative; Helped organize a blood drive for the American Red Cross; Congressional National Leadership Conference nominee; School representative for FBLA; Diamond Dolls; Volunteer for Children’s Miracle Network, PAWS, Kaizen Club, Read Across America, Salvation Army, Relay for Life, Bunco for Breast Cancer, American Cancer Association, American Heart Association, and Habitat for Humanity; Member of Spanish Club, FCA, Rotary Club, HOSA International, and Key Club.

Other Accomplishments:  State competitor for Prepared Public Speaking; Member of state and national championship cheerleading team; seven time national champion in competitive cheerleading; choreographed and performed winning individual cheerleading routine; Miss Phenix City’s Outstanding Teen 2008; Miss Trussville’s Outstanding Teen 2009.
